A. Jesse Jiryu Davis is a portrait and event photographer based in New York City. As a self-taught photographer, he began taking assignments while refining his skills at the International Center of Photography, where he became proficient with digital and traditional processes.

Jesse has covered events, created editorial portraits, and photographed landscapes for New York Magazine, The Village Voice, Time Out New York, Meditate NYC, AT Magazine in Germany, and the Village Zendo Journal. Currently, he is documenting the New York Zen community and the changing Lower East Side.

In past lives, Jesse earned a BA in Computer Science from Oberlin College, and trained for a year in a Zen monastery.
